Mersin UFO Reports

Record summary

Turkish UFO organizations and local media have described sightings around Mersin during 2001, generally involving luminous or disc-like objects observed from urban or coastal areas. The reports are remembered as a local cluster rather than one tightly documented event, and surviving accounts may come largely through UFO-group compilations. No extraordinary interpretation should be assumed: aircraft, astronomical objects, and misperceived lights are plausible alternatives. Researchers should first establish the exact dates, witnesses, and original Turkish-language publications before treating this as a discrete incident.
