The Woodford Folk Festival’s Spiritual and Esoteric Programming

Record summary

Queensland’s Woodford Folk Festival has hosted programming involving ritual performance, ecological spirituality, alternative healing, indigenous cultural presentation, mythology, and personal transformation. It provides a concrete venue for studying how esoteric and spiritual practices are curated in a large contemporary festival rather than transmitted through a closed lineage. The lead should be narrowed to particular years and sessions, since the program changes and not every offering is occult or religious. Researchers should also distinguish invited cultural practitioners from commercial wellness presenters and entertainment acts.
