Jatinga night-bird mystery reports

Record summary

Jatinga is known for seasonal bird disorientation and collisions around village lights, historically described in some accounts as birds committing mass suicide or arriving mysteriously. After 2010, documentaries and news features sometimes gave the event a paranormal or ominous framing, occasionally blending it with local stories about spirits. It is relevant to apparition research as a comparison case for supernatural interpretation of unusual nighttime observations. Ornithological explanations involving fog, light and weather are substantially more conventional, and the phenomenon should not be categorized as a ghost report.
