2017 Calvine photograph and Scottish sighting report

Record summary

The Calvine photograph became public in 2023 after decades of restricted circulation, although the reported sighting occurred in Scotland in August 1990 and therefore predates the requested period. It is included only as a post-2010 archival and verification lead because its modern release influenced contemporary European UFO discussion. The image’s provenance, original witnesses and alleged military handling remain contested, while aircraft or photographic explanations have been proposed. Researchers should separate the historical encounter from the later publication and authentication debate.
