USS Texas paranormal reports before and during preservation work

Record summary

The historic battleship USS Texas has appeared in ghost-tour and paranormal-investigation accounts involving voices, footsteps, shadow figures, and sensations attributed to its long military history. Reports circulated during the vessel’s final years at San Jacinto and around later preservation planning, making the case relevant to how relocation, closure, and changing access affect apparition narratives. The site is especially useful for separating documented ship history from stories generated by visitors or investigators. Many accounts remain difficult to date and may be repeated without an original source.
