2023 Kyiv astronomical-observatory UAP report

Record summary

In 2023, researchers associated with Ukraine’s Main Astronomical Observatory published a preprint describing unidentified objects observed over Kyiv using astronomical instruments. The report attracted international attention because it placed a UAP claim in a war-zone observational context. Ukrainian authorities and later commentary disputed or questioned aspects of the report, and the publication was withdrawn or revised amid methodological criticism. It is therefore valuable primarily as a case of scientific reporting, institutional response and contested interpretation, not as verified evidence of unusual craft.
