Minot Air Force Base UFO reports

Record summary

Personnel associated with Minot Air Force Base reported unusual lights or objects in the area in October 1968, with accounts involving security personnel, aircraft, and radar. The episode is often cited in discussions of UFO activity near strategic military installations and nuclear forces. It matters for examining how local reports entered Project Blue Book files and how multiple observations were later combined. Public summaries differ in the number of witnesses, exact times, and sensor involvement, so the original case documentation is essential. No extraordinary identification was established.
