Project Serpo

Record summary

Project Serpo was an online UFO narrative claiming that a secret U.S. program exchanged personnel with extraterrestrials from the planet associated with Zeta Reticuli. It circulated through email lists, UFO websites, and anonymous postings in the mid-2000s, with alleged links to intelligence insiders and earlier Roswell mythology. The lead matters for studying serial disclosure narratives, pseudonymous authority, and the reuse of Cold War secrecy motifs. Researchers should reconstruct the posting sequence and compare it with known hoax practices; the story has not been independently substantiated.
