Record summary
Peru’s Dirección de Intereses Aeroespaciales de la Fuerza Aérea (DIFAA) was reactivated in the 2010s to receive and assess reports of unidentified aerial phenomena. Public discussion included civilian and military observations from different parts of Peru, with investigators emphasizing information gathering rather than proof of extraterrestrial craft. This lead can support comparison of official intake systems, witness interviewing, and unresolved versus conventionally explained cases. It is necessary to identify the particular report and date because the office’s public material is often summarized broadly.
