Lagos and southwestern Nigeria UFO-report archives

Record summary

Nigerian newspapers and UFO literature contain occasional references to unusual aerial lights or objects over Lagos and southwestern Nigeria in the 1990s. The lead is useful for examining how urban media, aviation activity and religious or apocalyptic interpretations shaped encounter reports. It should be decomposed into specific articles or witness reports, because “Nigeria UFO sightings” is a category rather than one established incident. Conventional explanations—including aircraft, re-entry debris, lightning and astronomical objects—must be retained until the original report and timing are recovered.
