1998 Cairo UFO reports

Record summary

UFO databases contain entries for alleged unusual objects or lights seen around Cairo in the late 1990s. The reports may provide a useful comparison with later Middle Eastern cases involving videos and social media, because they were transmitted primarily through newspapers, personal testimony and specialist newsletters. Their exact dates, witnesses and descriptions are not securely recalled here. Researchers should locate the original Arabic reports, determine whether several entries describe one event, and assess aircraft, satellite, meteorological and astronomical explanations before assigning any anomaly status.
