The Rendlesham Forest UFO incident

Record summary

In late December 1980, U.S. Air Force personnel stationed at RAF Woodbridge and Bentwaters reported unusual lights and a possible landed object near Rendlesham Forest. Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt produced a memorandum and later recordings, making the episode unusually traceable among UFO cases. It matters for comparing witness testimony, military context and retrospective memory. Proposed conventional explanations include a lighthouse, stars, atmospheric effects, or a misidentified object, while believers emphasize multiple witnesses and physical impressions. Key details remain disputed across statements and later interviews.
