Levelland UFO sightings

Record summary

During a concentrated wave near Levelland, Texas, motorists and other witnesses reported a large luminous object, sometimes described as egg-shaped, allegedly causing vehicle engines and electrical systems to stop. Police patrolman A. J. Fowler also reported a luminous object, and Project Blue Book investigated the episode. Investigators proposed electrical storms, ball lightning, or other atmospheric effects, while later writers emphasized the consistency of vehicle-related claims. The case is useful for comparing repeated testimony, weather conditions, and retrospective interpretations of alleged electromagnetic effects.
