Castillo Pittamiglio

Record summary

Castillo Pittamiglio is an eccentric Montevideo building designed by Humberto Pittamiglio and associated with alchemical symbolism, labyrinthine architecture, and later stories of paranormal activity. During the late twentieth century, its unusual form and occult associations helped make it a prominent anomalous-place narrative. The lead is valuable because it combines documented architectural symbolism with speculative interpretations of the owner’s beliefs and reported phenomena. Pittamiglio’s biography and the building’s chronology are verifiable, but individual ghost encounters and alleged esoteric purposes remain contested.
