1997 Jerusalem UFO reports

Record summary

UFO literature and Israeli press archives contain reports of unusual lights or objects seen around Jerusalem during the late 1990s, including claims associated with the Temple Mount area. These reports are sometimes conflated with the much later 2011 viral videos. The lead may help researchers examine how local reports are retrospectively merged with later imagery, how Hebrew-language coverage is translated, and how religiously significant locations affect interpretation. The precise incident boundaries, witnesses and any official investigation are uncertain and must be reconstructed from contemporaneous sources.
