Levelland UFO reports

Record summary

The Levelland case involved motorists’ reports in November 1957 of a luminous object or egg-shaped craft on roads around Levelland, sometimes associated with vehicle engines stopping. Police officer A. J. Fletcher reportedly encountered unusual lights during the reporting period, and Project Blue Book investigated. The case is valuable for comparing clustered roadside reports, instrument or vehicle claims, weather conditions, and official inquiry. Explanations involving electrical storms, ball lightning, or misidentification have been proposed, but the historical record does not yield a universally accepted conclusion.
