Dave Shealy Skunk Ape footage and photographs

Record summary

Florida researcher Dave Shealy publicized photographs, video, and reported encounters with a large hairy hominoid in or around Big Cypress Swamp, especially from the late 1990s onward. His material is a useful comparison point for self-organized field investigation, tourism, local folklore, and recurring cryptid imagery. Skeptics have questioned the evidentiary value of the footage and suggested misidentification or staged performances. The lead is identifiable through Shealy’s named research organization, interviews, books, and television appearances, though individual sightings and dates require separate verification.
