Chicago Mothman sightings

Record summary

A cluster of alleged winged-humanoid reports in and around Chicago became prominent in 2017 through reports collected by investigator Lon Strickler and the Phantoms & Monsters site. Descriptions commonly involve a very tall, dark figure with glowing or reflective eyes, sometimes seen flying or gliding. The reports matter because they provide a comparatively recent North American corpus for comparing recurring visual motifs, witness conditions, and media amplification. Individual accounts vary considerably, and much of the available material is self-reported or reproduced online rather than independently investigated.
