Pucón Chilean Military Sighting

Record summary

Chilean UFO catalogs identify a reported unusual aerial event near Pucón during the 1960s, sometimes associating it with military observers or aviation activity. The location is useful for comparative work because volcanic and mountainous terrain, tourism and military aviation overlap there, creating opportunities for both misidentification and institutional reporting. The available lead is bibliographically weaker than famous Chilean cases: accounts differ on year, witnesses and whether any official investigation occurred. It should prompt a search for local press and Chilean case files, not be treated as a single settled narrative.
