SS American Victory paranormal investigations

Record summary

The SS American Victory, a preserved World War II-era Victory ship, has been used for ghost tours and paranormal investigations in Tampa. Reported experiences include footsteps, voices, cold sensations and apparitions, often interpreted through the vessel’s wartime history and deaths at sea. It is a useful comparison case for examining how a civilian-military maritime heritage site acquires haunting narratives after preservation. Verification should focus on named investigations, event dates, investigators and recordings. The available material may be dominated by tourism promotion, personal testimony and paranormal entertainment rather than archival incident reports.
