The 1897 Inverell, New South Wales airship report

Record summary

Inverell is associated in historical airship-report compilations with a 1897 account of an unusual aerial object or light. It is a useful candidate for primary-source research because the town, colony, and year provide a path into Australian newspaper databases, especially the National Library’s Trove collection. The exact article, witness identity, direction, and whether the item was local or syndicated must be established before drawing conclusions. The case belongs to the airship-wave context and may ultimately prove to be a conventional misidentification, embellishment, or newspaper construction.
