Record summary
Several videos circulated in January 2011 claiming to show a luminous object descending over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, hovering above the Dome of the Rock, and rapidly departing. The episode attracted international news coverage and became one of the best-known recent Middle Eastern UFO cases. Independent investigators and visual-effects specialists raised strong hoax concerns, pointing to camera continuity, lighting, and multiple-source coordination. The lead remains useful for studying viral UFO evidence, authentication disputes, and the rapid international circulation of extraordinary claims.
