HMS Victory paranormal investigations

Record summary

HMS Victory, preserved at Portsmouth, has long attracted ghost stories and has continued to appear in modern paranormal programming and investigations. Reports involve footsteps, voices, apparitions and presences associated with battle history and the ship’s confined interior. The post-2010 lead is relevant for comparing a very old heritage vessel with newer museum ships: its narratives have a long transmission history and are especially vulnerable to retrospective embellishment. The ship’s historical events can be checked through naval archives, while alleged encounters require source-specific evaluation.
