Campeche Air Force Infrared Video

Record summary

On 5 March 2004, a Mexican Air Force aircraft reportedly recorded several infrared targets while conducting a counternarcotics patrol near Campeche. The video was publicized in 2004 and described by some commentators as showing invisible orbs surrounding the aircraft. Mexican officials and journalists presented the footage as an unidentified aerial observation, while critics proposed atmospheric, industrial, or sensor-related explanations. The lead matters for comparing military infrared imagery, operational context, and public interpretation. The video alone does not establish the targets’ distance, composition, or extraordinary nature.
