Record summary

What happened A very large crowd gathered after children predicted a public miracle associated with reported Marian apparitions. Many attendees described the Sun spinning, changing colour or descending; others present reported nothing unusual. Photographs show the crowd but no anomalous solar object. Later UFO interpretations recast the religious experience as a mass aerial encounter. Evidence Numerous contemporary testimonies and press reports document varied perceptions within the crowd. Explanations considered Prolonged staring at the Sun, retinal afterimages, atmospheric optics, expectation and crowd psychology can produce the reported effects. What remains uncertain Witnesses did not describe one uniform phenomenon, no solar observatory recorded abnormal motion, and a physically moving Sun would have been globally visible.
