Berwyn Mountains lights and tremor

Record summary

What happened A small earthquake was followed by reports of lights over the Berwyn Mountains and a rumour that a craft had crashed and been recovered by the military. Police and search teams responded to calls but found no wreckage. Later research identified the tremor and a bright meteor or poaching lights as likely ingredients in the story. Evidence Seismological records, police logs and civilian light reports document real events on the night. Explanations considered An earthquake plus meteor, vehicle or poaching lights explains the observations without a crash. What remains uncertain The recovery narrative grew later and lacks contemporaneous evidence of debris or a military retrieval. Primary source Berwyn Mountains lights and tremor — Wikipedia
